Day 1 was a success! What? You want to know what I did this last week? I can’t remember… too much planning for Rewild Camp and too much worrying over nuclear disaster.
Things we did today at Rewild Camp:
– Gathered edible and medicinal plants from the neighborhood and made a tea and salad.
– Talked about action plans for Nuclear disasters and beyond!
– Practiced martial arts and how mimicing certain animals gives you advantages.
– Spoke about the collapse of civilization over coffee and tea, while discussing different strategies people are doing to survive it.
– Massage!
– More, edible plants.
– Countless casual conversations that are too many to name.
Great day, great turn out.
On the agenda for tomorrow, August fifth:
– Bow-drill fire (fire rubbing two sticks together
– Making rope from leaves
– More martial arts
– Making medicinal salves with native plants
See something you want to learn about? Come on down! Don’t see something you want to learn about? Come on down and run a workshop/class/conversation/dialogue about something that DOES inspire you! Can’t make it tomorrow? We’ll be here all week long!
The Open Space is going, going, going. So get down to Colonel Summers Park tomorrow at 9am to join in on the fun. Newbies will need to find either me, Urban Scout, or our facilitor Willem Larsen for a quick briefing into the world of Open Space Technology. See you bright and early for Rewild Camp PDX Day 2!
